Run Clarity

I've always been someone who needs an outlet to deal with life's challenges. When faced with difficult situations, I've tried different methods to overcome them. One thing I've learned about myself is that having a distraction can be really helpful. I never thought running would be a form of distraction I would adopt but, After trying it for the first time, I found that it was a form of therapy that worked for me. Running can be tough, but it's a good kind of tough. It clears my mind and helps me forget about all the stresses of life.
My first run,
I put on gym clothes, went outside and started to run. It wasn't long before I started to realize how out of shape I was. I played Rec. volleyball 3 to 4 times a week. I didn't think a bit of running would be that challenging. My feet began to hurt, My back ached and suddenly I realized, I couldn't breath. As I'm inadvertently causing myself new pain, a honking noise screams directly in my ear. I didn't have the energy to protest the cars reaction to me however, I did realize that I was directly in the middle of the road. At this point I called it. This ten minute torture session was about all I had in me. As I walked home trying to catch my breath and not anger another driver, I realized that all the previous symptoms I was having had escaped me. The emptiness, The shakiness, the jitters. It seemed counter intuitive to replace my emotional pain with physical pain. At the time I welcomed the trade off. Having relieved myself of the constant emotional struggles for even a minute was a huge weight off me.
I had no reason to believe that one run would continue subduing my emotional struggles. I decided i would have to keep torturing myself physically to calm down emotionally. But I needed to figure out how to do it minus the physical torture.
At this point I've been running off and on for 8 years. I am no expert. I have experienced many obstacles that have kept me off my feet. I've discovered techniques to strengthen problematic areas and products to help support parts of my body that I have injured. There have been many google searches, youtube videos and asking for advice from other runners. Ultimately what I would like to do here is, I would like to share the products I've discovered as well as techniques and stretches I've used to prevent injury. So please forgive me, I'm still working out this site. Feel free to e-mail me. Find me on Facebook, I am feeling out a few running groups to share with as well. Also I don't have a shop. If you like any of the product on my gear page, give it a click. You can review and purchase on Amazon or what ever site the link takes you to.
Thank you for reading.
