Run Clarity
Often it will be necessary to carry an item or two if you have driven to your running location. In some cases your loved ones may require you to carry your cellular device just in case there is an accident.

Arm bands can carry your cell phone and other small items such as ID's, credit cards and keys. This is a good choice if you like to use your phone while you run. They also position the phone decently if you choose to wear wired headphones.
The belt style puts the phone around your waist. The belt can carry a variety of items and there are many different styles to choose from. While access to your stored items are limited during the run, a smart watch can give you a link to your phone so you can take or monitor calls or messages.
If you are planning a long run, It may be a good idea to plan for extra hydration efforts. A backpack with a large baffle would suite many running situations. I have never used them for running as they are a bulky on the back during a run. I do find them handy on a long hike. Plus there is extra storage for snacks or other hiking accessories.
You can double duty an accessories belt with hydration storage. Water bottles tend to be a little heavy when full. The belt may have to be a bit tighter to prevent the belt from sagging to much.
The handheld water bottle is simple and easy. It takes a minute to get used to having something in your hand while you run. But you will appreciate having it on a hot run.
Adjustable belts could have Velcro or clips and can be resized.
An example of a fitted belt is the flip belt. It has access ports to slide your valuables into the pocket that extends around the entire length of the belt. There is also a clip to secure a key chain. The soft material makes it comfortable when worn against the skin.
I do want to speak to the discomforts of these items. Running can be dangerous and there are good reason to take a cell phone in the event of an emergency. Arm bands are nice but I find them extremely annoying strapped to my arm. Belt styles are more comfortable however, the items are going to bounce around more when stored around the waist. I currently use the flip belt and I like it. I would caution, The flip belt works very well when used properly. If you accidently put it on upside down, your phone could fall out. It boils down to personal preference. I do recommend using some form of carrying apperatus for a cellular device.
If by now you have been on a few runs and your starting to experience areas of your body that feel as though there are starting a friction fire. Its likely literally happening. I choose ones that come in deodorant shaped containers for clean application
While I'm the topic of chaffing. Its a good time to discuss a sensitive area. This product could prevent a catastrophic chaffing experience in the middle of a long race. I honestly will not go out for more than 2 miles without nipple protection. These bandaids are the cheapest easiest solution. Quick tip. Try not to get hairs between the adhesive and the skin and don't forget to take them off after the run. As long as those tips are followed, you should never have to worry about bloody nipple.
For the hot runs, You may consider something to keep the sweat out of your eyes. The headband seems obvious I know. The headband I prefer has an extra feature that helps direct the sweat away from your eyes.
